Best Christmas Present Ever!

Myles on his way home from the hospital.Well Christmas has come and gone, but we're still loving our favorite present! The girls have been so good with Myles. They love him so much. Even though Myles had to pretty much be quarantined for the first week because everyone was sick except me thank goodness!
Myles' great-grandma knitted him this outfit and every time he wears it people say he looks just like a doll!
I know Myles is so happy to be home. He is such a good baby although he is very spoiled and wants to be hold constantly which is fine with all of us! He is now a "wireless" baby. No more oxygen or monitors. YAY!
Journey is like Myles' second mom. She loves to feed him and burp him and even do diapers. We couldn't be any happier right now!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Myles

Wanted to update everyone on how great Myles is doing!
I love this picture it reminds me of those greeting cards of the animals with huge eyes! His facial expressions are hilarious! Big sis, Addie, wants to teach Myles how to make funny faces.
Myles was moved to an open crib on Sunday. It's fun to dress him up! He's doing great keeping his temperature where it should be. Just one of the few milestones he needs to meet before we bring our bundle of joy home!

Journey is an awesome big sis. Myles already loves to listen to her voice. He always smiles for her. This outfit he's wearing I was sure had to be newborn or 0-3 months but it's preemie!! He still has some growing to do.

My little prince! He was just weighed tonight and he's 4 lbs 2 oz. I'm so excited. He will probably reach five pounds within the next two weeks the rate he's going. I started to try and feed him this week. If I can get the little guy to wake up he does quite well although he bites my every time!

Be careful what you wish for!

Well a lot of you wanted me to put some pictures of my pregnant belly on my blog. I took this silly picture last Friday and it's a good thing because....I had my baby boy on Wednesday, Nov. 5th 2008! I have to say it was quite a shock. I was only 29 weeks pregnant and still had 11 weeks to go! On Sunday, at around 1:30 in the morning, my water broke while in bed asleep. I awoke thinking I was peeing the bed! I sat up fast to run to the restroom and felt this huge gush of fluid. Still not believing what had happened I contemplated waking up Adam. Luckily my brother, Shaun, was awake on the computer because when I went online to google symptoms of your water breaking I thought "no that's not what happened" and was going to go back to bed. Shaun's wife said "call your doctor!" so I did and he told me to go to the hospital where I was told "your water has broken so you will be on bed rest in the hospital until you deliver him." I can't explain in words how I felt at that moment other than I thought I would never stop crying. How can I be on bed rest with two small children and a husband at home!Three days after being in hell on bed rest at the hospital Myles J Gibby was born at 8:58 p.m. He wasn't handling my labor well at all so I ended up being put to sleep and awoke to have had a c-section and a baby that weighed 3 lbs 6 oz. It was hard not seeing him be delivered and Adam wasn't allowed in the room either. From the time his heart rate dropped, to getting him out of my belly was only 9 minutes. They moved very fast and I have the scars and bruises to show for it. I was just happy that he was OK and that my bed rest and not knowing what was going to happen was all over. In this picture Myles looks like a little frog. Adam has enjoyed holding his little boy. He goes every night after work to put in some "skin-to-skin" time. That's what the NICU nurses call it. I have to tell you the guilt that I have felt because from the moment I found out I was having a boy I said "He better be a small baby" Journey was 8 lbs 3 oz and Addison was 9 lbs 2 oz so I was used to big babies and just wanted this one to come on his own and be a little smaller. Be careful what you wish for because everything did come true in an extreme way!

Here's a picture of my wide-eyed boy. They say he's so alert for a 29 weeker. His apgar scores were excellent and he never even needed help breathing. We are currently just waiting for Myles to learn how to breath, suck and swallow at the same time so he can eat on his own. We are hoping he will be home for Christmas. We'll keep you updated on his progress.

San Diego Trip

It's been over a month since I've posted a blog so I though my next one should be the highlight of our summer. We made a trip to San Diego to visit Sea World, the San Diego Zoo and Wildlife Park and the ocean. We had a blast despite the weather! It was cold and rainy but got better towards the end of our trip. Adam, me, the girls and Shaun drove and Kelly and her boyfriend Erich flew in and met us in San Diego.

Our first stop was this huge statue, which was by accident. We turned onto a side road to meet Kelly and her boyfriend, Erich, and found this lovely thing. The girls were very impressed. We couldn't get Adam away from her!
Our next stop (after we went to breakfast) was Sea World. I loved it!! The whales and sea lions were my favorite. We went to Sea World twice this vacation and the second time was better because the rain had stopped and it wasn't so cold.
The zoo was fun but a very big area to cover! There were so many animals to see.
It was awesome that Kelly got to meet us in California with her new boyfriend, Erich. He made our vacation even more fun. My girls loved him!
Ahh. My favorite part of our vacation. The ocean. This was the first time that I've got to swim in the ocean. It was still a little chilly, but that didn't stop us. After dipping her feet in, Addison had enough and went to sit with dad (who didn't care much to get in). After swallowing some water and almost throwing up, Journey was done. But Shaun and I stayed in for a while. My ears were freezing but the rest of me was fine. Until we got out!! Then we picked some seashells. Just a word of advice for any first-time seashell pickers. Don't bring home the shells that are still closed! There could be living things in them! My car smelled like fishy stuff for weeks!
Our trip came to an end but we got to do everything that we set out to. It was the best family vacation so far! Now if I could only get my passport so we could leave the country that would be even better! Thanks to Shaun for taking all our pictures and video!

Happy Birthday Addison!!

Addison is almost three years old. I can't believe it! Her birthday is on the 17th but we celebrated it on Sunday so her Dad could be there. This year I decided I would make my own birthday cake because I am sick of store-bought cakes. I searched online for an easy one to make and found this one. Addie loves butterflies so it worked out great. I have to say I was pretty happy with the way it turned out
I'll admit that compared to the picture I got off the Internet on how it was supposed to look, mine looks a little like a bunch of kids made it but it tasted good and Adam, Journey and I had a blast making it.
I put Adam and Journey to work blowing up the balloons. Journey thought she would save some time by blowing them all up at once. She was surprised it didn't work!
All of Adam's hot air came in handy for this task. Love you honey!
Addison got a little bit of help from big sis to blow out her candles. She thought that I had made the greatest cake in the world. It was a little sad for me to have to cut it. It was all worth it though!!
Addie looked so pretty in her new dress. We had her take it off to eat some cake and it's a good thing cuz she got green frosting all over herself.
Had to get the princess plates and napkins!
Addie's favorite part was the balloons. She played with them for hours.
I wanted to get Addie her own stroller because she was always bringing hers outside to carry her babies around and it would drive me crazy! She loved it and you'll have to look in a later post to see who she likes to carry around in it.
After she opened this present I regretted buying it! 100 pieces of food for her kitchen. I see this stuff being scattered everywhere for weeks to come!

Starting Over

Well I decided to go through my baby clothes (I already had them pulled out to organize because I knew I was having a girl. haha) just to see if there was anything that I could use for our boy.
I made a huge pile of the girls clothes...
Everything I found that could possibly pass for baby boy clothes fit into this little box! I was pretty picky when it came to my girls. All I bought for them was pink, pink, pink! Even so they were still called boys because they had no hair! Now that they're older they get to help pick out they're own clothes and sure enough it's never pink!
We're excited to start over with this one. I never associated cute with shopping for boy's clothes, but it is. I love looking for blue clothes just as much as I did with pink!

It's a Boy!!

Well I'm still in shock after the ultrasound. I was truly expecting the words "It's a girl" but as you can see above it's a boy! The first words out of my mouth were "Oh my gosh, what am I going to do with a little boy?" We are totally excited and even though the girls each wanted something different, they were exstatic to hear that I have their little brother in my tummy.
The baby has all ten fingers and toes and everything else looks great. Above is a little foot. I am hopeing for a little baby this time but the Dr. says probably not this one. As some of you know Journey was 8 lbs 3 oz and Addison was 9 lbs 2 oz. Adam is the one who always predicts the weight right on and for our little boy he is predicting 9 lbs 8 oz. I hope and pray that this time he is wrong! I love this picture! You can see his tiny little face and where the arrow is pointing is his ribs. Can you see it??
Here is a picture of his little foot prints and below is another picture of his face and head with a little arm.
We will keep you updated on our progress and can't wait to welcome him into this awesome family.

Journey starts kindergarten!

It's time to get this blog going and what better way to begin than Journey starting kindergarten. It seems as though Journey was destined for school when she was born. She has always loved to teach herself new things. She has been asking "when will I start school" ever since she was two. She loves her class and her teacher although the other day stated that she was upset because "all we are learning how to do is our colors and letters. I already know all that. I want to learn how to write words and read them!" She's growing up so fast. Her teacher's name is Mrs. Brown and Journey is in her half-day class from 9-11:45 am. She loves to get rides to school from her dad on his motorcycle! Addison truly misses her sister when she's gone and can't wait for my phone to start singing "Funky town" by the Chipmunks because that is my alarm letting us know school is over. We're expecting great things this year for little miss Journey!
